Who is Welch Heating & Air Conditioning

        Joe Welch founded Welch Heating & Air Conditioning and began doing business in Salt Lake City in 1965. He spent the next 20 yrs providing heating and air conditioning services in commercial and residential new construction as well as remodel work. The company had a loyal clientele of well known homebuilders and commercial general contractors and they were known for a high level of quality and reliability.

       His son, Mike, joined the company in 1970 after serving in the United States Navy in Vietnam. Mike learned the trade from his father who taught him well in both the technical and management side of the business. Mike started out as a duct work fabricator, installer and tradesman. His knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication has helped train many young men just starting out in the trade. Over the years, furnaces and air conditioners became more and more complex as efficiencies increased, so the employees were constantly training for success of the company and its employees. Mike has always emphasized the importance of professionalism through training, customer service and personal appearance. He says "Our goal is to get and keep customers for life. If we treat our customers with honesty and integrity, then the rest will take care of itself."

        In 1985, Joe Welch took a well deserved retirement and Mike took the reigns. Instilled with the same ethical approach to business that his father had, the company continued to grow. By this time, the company had replaced much of its residential new construction work with service, maintenance, and remodel/retrofit work. The company continues with a few loyal home builders and general contractor relationships that involve customized homes and negotiated commercial work. A great deal of the company's efforts are also directed toward replacement and upgrading of residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning systems. Referrals and repeat customers have always contributed grealty to the success of the company. The employees are continually trained today and encouraged to nurture those relationships.
